Through the years, I have enjoyed a variety of crafts. As a kid, it was sewing. As a young mom, it was embroidery. As I got older and had access to a bit more money, I dabbled in everything from beaded jewelry, to book binding. Now I am in my retirement years. With more time on my hands, I get to spend my creative time learning new things and perfecting my previous passions. That brings me to macramé. My macramé mania came from a class I found online. It lit a fire that was not matched with my other Maker pursuits.
This timeless textile art has existed throughout history because of its simplicity and beauty. It is simply tying knots. The number of knots to learn is finite, but the possibilities are endless.

These possibilities can be combined with my other crafting pursuits. Here is something I made that combines sewing, embroidery, and macramé.

This cute felt kitty softie was made to hang on a refrigerator. It has a magnet glued inside the back piece of felt. The face was embroidered on the front, and the front and back was sewn together with a sewing machine. Meanwhile, I made a simple macramé heart that was sewn by hand onto the front.
